Following the announcement of the ability to respond to messages sent to everyone on the most recent versions of WhatsApp for Android, iOS, and Desktop, WhatsApp is now rolling out another useful feature: the ability to add up to 512 people to groups!

512 Group Participant

In a new blog post on their website, the company finally announces their future plans for new WhatsApp features to be released in the coming weeks. The first feature is the public release of message reactions, which Mark Zuckerberg announced today (but since the company is slowly rolling out the feature, it will take up to 7 days before reaching everyone).
WhatsApp also announced that it is now offering end-to-end encryption for sharing media files up to 2GB in size: WhatsApp previously tested the new limit in Argentina, and the company is now ready to make it available to everyone. But there’s more to be announced today: the ability to add up to 512 people to groups!

As you can see in this screenshot, we can add up to 512 participants to our WhatsApp groups. This is one of the most frequently requested features by WhatsApp users. It will also be very useful when the ability to create communities is released.
WhatsApp also announces in their blog post that the feature is being slowly rolled out. This is very common when releasing features, so don’t be surprised if you can’t add more than 256 people to your groups today. More WhatsApp accounts will be able to use the feature in the coming weeks.
